I've had problems with this SD card from the start. I just use it in my phone for music, and the first time I insert it, my computer took 5 minutes to even read it. Now it's asking me to format it, so I say 'why not?'
Only issue is it won't format the damn thing. I went to the 'Disk Manager' but i'm not sure what to do from that point, however it does say the disk is 'unallocated', not sure if that has any significance. Then I downloaded the SD card formatting software 'SDformatter' and that was a failure. It said the 'drive is not supported' and it essentially didn't even let me attempt to format it. Does anyone have a solution? That'd be terrific.
Ideally the card should be formatted in the phone and not on the computer. Have you tried formatting the card while inserted in the phone? Unallocated space means the space is not allocated (ready) for use. Normally, you can right click on the drive (disk) in disk management and choose to initialize and format the disk. If the phone has a USB connection and you have the USB cable you could try connecting via the USB cable instead of removing the card.I actually did think of that, although I wasn't sure if it was even possible to format an SD card in my phone, but thank you, this actually helped alot! Ideally the card should be formatted in the phone and not on the computer.

I reall don't know what to do anymore. I tried formatting it from the tablet itself. It didn't format it. Then I went ahead and tried to delete the files from the sd card and it did it. The files were deleted, except two files in one folder, they wont delete. In addition, I removed the sd card ans inserted it in my computer and back they were. All files were back to the sd as if they had never been deleted once.It seems to me the those two files b=my be the problem. Can anybody recommmend a good formating software or any help to solve this problem.

It's a 64 sandisk man, It's not cheap. It is not possible to solve the problem. Somehow, the library on the SD card makes you believe that files were deleted but they were not. As if the card had been encrypted. A few experts wrote on internet that:1. Samsung androids from 2013 destroy SD cards in a few months2. The KitKat 4.4.2 avoids to have normal access to the SD card.
It contains routines that cause known issues. But it also prevents a normal formatting of the card or deleting files. The only thing that is done: it changes temporarly the library of the contents of the card.3. Samsung and Google are to blame for these issues buy they refuse to take respondiblility.
The SD card producer id not to blame.4. A rooted android often gives full access to the SD card. I reall don't know what to do anymore. I tried formatting it from the tablet itself.
